Age: 57
Human Resources Assistant

I’ve tried many diet plans, but none of them convinced me to make permanent changes in my eating habits. I joined the corporate challenge to work with a team of friends to get fit, have fun and bring home the trophy.

My personal goals:
-lose weight and eat healthier
-exercise for bone strengthening and toning
-cardio workout

Debbie Bowman

I would like to do this to feel better about myself physically and mentally.

Frances Hart

I joined to lose weight. I’m diabetic and I hope I can lose weight and get it under control and get off of the medicine. Also for the excitement of competing with the other teams. As for me – I’m betting on team “Fat (has no) Chance!!!

Cindi Phipps

I, like many others, have tried to lose weight many times! I lose a few pounds and then put them right back on. I joined the corporate challenge to work with others to change my eating habits and make exercise a part of my daily routine. Not only am I doing this for myself, but as a wife and mother of two children, I would like to change our eating habits and exercise as a family. I want to be the biggest loser!

Joan Hartley

I am divorced and have two married sons and two wonderful daughter-in-laws. My cats keep me company at home although I “laughingly” tell people I have a revolving door at my house. It seems like I am constantly on the go. I try to work out at least 3X a week at the YWCA now, where I have been a member for over 10 years. Two years ago I lost over 20 pounds and felt really good. Due to some stressful things going on in my family (one being my older son having a heart attack in June, 2007), I have gradually put a lot of that back on. I joined the Corporate Challenge to get re-motivated and have fun with my friends while working out.

My goals:

  • Lose between 5 and 10 pounds between now and December 6…..and continue until I have lost at least 20 pounds.
  • Exceed the Strongwell goal of 4 workouts a week.
  • Eat healthier (my downfall is snacking after 8p!).
  • Keep off the weight I lose!
I appreciate Strongwell’s support in letting us have these Teams and come December 6th we should all feel better, especially our “Fat Has No Chance” Team who, I know, will work very hard to try to win this challenge. However, we are all WINNERS just because we are taking this challenge to improve our health.

Louis Naples

My goal is to gain muscle weight and feel good about myself. I also want to stay fit and healthy!

Diane Fuller

This is me before I lost 83lbs.

This is me now!

My goals:

I decided Jan 1, 2008 to make a commitment to myself. After I had a few health problems, I knew that if I did not change my lifestyle I may not be around to see my grandbabies grow up! I know some of you are probably saying, “no one knows how we will go.” Yes, I know that, but if I live a healthier life style, maybe I can stay around a little bit longer. My mother passed away at 56 - that's terribly young, I think!! I had high blood pressure, cholesterol problems, and I was on the verge of taking insulin. I have none of these problems now! I have more energy. I feel great! So my goal for our team is to commit myself to this program and give 100% of myself to this challenge! I have lost 83 pounds and would like to lose 10 more pounds. I am not dieting now but I eat what I want – I just eat healthy! I also want to try to tone some places.

Go team – FAT (has no) Chance!

Jon Herndon

I have 5 terrific kids and a wonderful wife. My goal is to live and eat healthier so I'll be around for a long time!!

I've worked out before and I always feel so much better. I really enjoy a competition like this one, because it holds me accountable and I like the competitiveness it offers. For me, working out is the easy part, its controlling my portions and sticking to healthy foods, that is a challenge!!
I'm looking forward to the changes I will be seeing in the next few weeks!!

GO TEAM!
